 Cross-laced corset |
The cross-lacing
It´s the same with the cross-lacing: The most important thing is, that the lacing in the middle of the corset proceeds from the inside to the outside. If you have to start from inside to outside or the other way round you have to count or to try. When you have found the beginning the laces are threaded alternately from the inside to the outside and afterwards the other way round, so that you don´t have any lace in between the eyelet-bands (but over and under it). End the lacing with the figure of eight here as well and pull the remaining lace back to the sloap in the middle.
Once the corset is laced normally you don´t have to open the lacing again, because you can put on and off the corset via opening the front fastening. It´s important to open the lacing completely so that there´s no draught on the eyelets before opening the front fastening.
When you put on your corset close it carefully from eyelet to eyelet - not at all only via pulling the middle sloap, because that can destroy a corset within short time. Normally you start with the upper cross and work to the middle sloap. When you´ve reached it start working from the last cross to the middle. Repeat this process until the waist is laced to the desired measurement.
